Kamalia Freyling joined the Rochester Philharmonic as Second and E-flat Clarinet in 2019. She has performed with many orchestras around the world, including the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, the Buffalo Philharmonic, the National Symphony Orchestra of the Dominican Republic, the New York String Orchestra, the Albany Symphony Orchestra, the Spoleto Festival Orchestra, and the Verbier Festival Orchestra. As a soloist, she has performed with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, the Jefferson Symphony Orchestra, the Colorado College Festival Orchestra. She earned degrees from The Juilliard School and the Eastman School of Music, both under the tutelage of Jon Manasse. Kamalia is also a passionate educator and maintains an active private clarinet studio of young musicians. Outside of music, Kamalia loves both indoor and outdoor rock climbing and hiking with her Australian shepherd, Calvin.
