Sun Valley Music Festival

This Policy describes how the Sun Valley Music Festival (the “Festival”) treats information regarding its donors. In this context, “donors” may include individuals who contribute financial and/or in-kind gifts, housing hosts, volunteers, and purchasers of tickets to the Festival’s annual fundraising gala. The Festival respects the privacy of its donors and will not sell, share, rent or trade its donors’ names or personal information with another entity. The Festival will not send mailings, electronic or otherwise, on behalf of other organizations. The Festival’s third-party mailing and ticketing services are contractually obligated to treat its donor information with confidentiality and are prohibited from selling, trading, renting, or sharing your personal information.
The Festival may collect the following types of personal information about its donors:
- Name, address, telephone, email address, and other contact information
- Financial information regarding donations and purchases, including the amounts and methods of such transactions, the name(s) of charitable funds associated with the donor, and any special restrictions, preferences or circumstances around the donation/purchase
- Email exchanges, requests, and notes from personal conversations
- Other information that may be publicly available
The Festival collects and uses personal information about its donors for the following purposes in support of its mission:
- To provide personalized service
- To send e-mail alerts and mailings related to Festival programs
- To answer and respond to requests
- To process donations and/or ticket purposes
- To maintain records required for tax and financial reporting purposes
The Festival restricts internal access to donor personal information to those employees who need to know that information in order to provide services to donors and comply with financial and tax reporting requirements.
The Festival does publish the names of its donor names in various publications, both print and electronic, in order to recognize donors at their associated giving levels. In every case, donors are prompted to confirm how they wish to be recognized, including the opportunity to remain anonymous.
