Bates’ Devil’s Radio was commissioned by the Sun Valley Music Festival in celebration of its 30th season in 2014, and the piece has gone on to numerous repeat performances around the country since. The phrase “devil’s radio” was brought to the public consciousness by George Harrison’s track from his 1987 album Cloud Nine. ...
